Setting Up Your Dragino LHT65N/LHT65S Temperature Sensor: A Step-by-Step Guide

Setting Up Your Dragino LHT65N/LHT65S Temperature Sensor: A Step-by-Step Guide

Welcome to the world of IoT and ConnectedFresh! This article will guide you through the process of setting up your Dragino LHT65S/LHT65N temperature sensor, which runs on the LoRaWAN network. With just a few simple steps, you'll be up and running in no time. Let's get set up!

Unpacking Your Sensor

The temperature sensor box will come with the following components:

  • 1x temperature and humidity sensor: 1x external temperature probe

  • 1x external LoRaWAN antenna

  • Mounting hardware (zip ties and 3M sensors)

The sensor will be labeled with its identifier, which will be helpful for assigning sensors, moving sensors, or contacting ConnectedFresh Support.

Mounting Your Sensor

Reference this article for more details
1. Gather Materials: Use the provided 2 zip ties and 2 3M adhesive tags. Attach the sensor antenna to your new sensor.
2. Choose the Mounting Location: Select a spot inside the fridge where the sensor can be mounted without obstructing any shelves or drawers. Ideally, choose a location that is central to get an accurate temperature reading of the entire fridge. Avoid placing the sensor too close to the cooling element, as this might give inaccurate temperature readings.
3. Prepare the Surface: Clean the chosen spot inside the fridge. The surface should be dry and free of grease or dirt to ensure the tape adheres properly.
4. Preparing the Sensor: Put one zip tie through each mounting hole in the sensor and through given 3M tags, then tighten the zip tie.

5. Mount the Sensor: Peel off the protective layer of the 3M tag. Carefully place the sensor onto the chosen spot in the fridge, pressing firmly for a few seconds to ensure a strong bond. Cut any additional zip tie slag if needed.

Activating Your Sensor
Here's how to turn on your Dragino LHT65S/LHT65N temperature sensor:
  1. Mount the sensor in a central area within range of your LoRaWAN gateway. Avoid placing it near metal, as this can block radio frequency signals.
  2. Press and hold the 'ACT' (Activate) button for 5 seconds. Let go when the LED starts flashing green.
  3. The sensor will begin searching for a signal from the gateway. When it successfully connects, a solid green LED will shine for approximately 5 seconds.
  4. Troubleshooting: If the LED continues to blink red every 30 seconds, it means the sensor is still searching for the network. In this case, please double-check the sensor placement and ensure that your gateway is turned on. If you encounter problems in setting up, please reach out to support@connectedfresh.com.
