Setting Up Your Gateway: A Step-by-Step Guide
This article is designed to help customers who have received their Gateway.
A functioning and internet-connected Gateway is necessary for the activation of your sensors. Please make sure to set up this Gateway prior to proceeding with sensors.
Unpacking Your Box
Your sensor box will come with the following components:
- 1x gateway
- 1x USB power cable
- 1x LoRa antenna
- 1x cellular antenna (not all models)
- Note: If your Gateway is connecting to cellular, the SIM card is preinstalled.
Setting up the Gateway
Step 1: Identify Placement
It is important to place the Gateway in an area that will allow it to properly communicate with sensors. For assistance with placement, please refer to this article: link.
Step 2: Attach Antenna(s)
Your device will include a LoRa antenna to communicate with your sensors. If you ordered a cellular Gateway, a cellular antenna will also be included.
All antennas are attached by screwing into the Gateway.
Step 3: Connect Ethernet
Plug in your Ethernet cord into your Gateway, this will allow for an internet connection. If your Gateway connects over cellular, Ethernet is not required.
It is important that the internet connection is reliable and does not have any restrictions preventing the Gateway from accessing the internet. Depending on your organization, you may need to work with your IT department. Please reach out to support@connectedfresh.com for assistance.
Step 4: Connect Power
Plug the Gateway into power via the USB-A (wall side) to USB-C (device side) connector.
The Gateway LEDs will light up as it is booting which may take up to 5 minutes to secure a connection.
Step 5: Validate Connection
Connection status will update in your dashboard within 10 minutes. If you need assistance with verifying the connection, please reach out to support@connectedfresh.com.
